well, i just finished writing my ichthyology paper. now its almost 430. i think i did a good job, but i have some more writing do do. its about a little thing thats been bothering me
Today Nate Rants On... The Gay Marriage Controversy
alright, the ripsaw had a great article about this. so good that it made me think, and made me angry. first off... there should be no controversy. its a right for people to marry who they love. i think the conservatives... like hmmm... bush...from texas... hmm... are all homophobes. they give eminem shit for it... why not bush. maybe bush, when he must appologize later, will also do a duet with elton. anyways. the conservative argument is this. allowing gays to marry threatenes the very sanctity of marriage and the family. gay activists cite factors other than homosexuality to be concerned about. and i quote... "If you want to protect marriage, forbed divorce or adultery, not a loving union between two people, " stated Larson. no first name given. so basically, this showes that there are other forces that the conservatives have problems with other than the homo factor. first off, not giving gays the right to marry, means taking away some ''inalienable rights'' and basically dehumanizes them. but that isnt the issue. the issue is since that is the case, they dont recieve the benifits, and the gov saves money. at least thats my view. im sure the homo factor is also an issue, since im sure bush doesnt even look at or touch his own penis every day. anyways, it is the most stupid argument since who is at fault, the rapist, or the rapee for wearing "revealing clothing". so basically... gays have the right to marry, and it is being taken away from them. this is wrong... bad bush. i would spank you if i could. we like to consider the u.s. a progressive country, but we are far from it. there is still oppression. so all you homosexuals out there, go and get married. go to canada. do anything you need to. prove that your love is just the same as bush has for his wife. wait... they arent the same. and thats also a point. i see gays as actually having a love for each other. i havent done the research, but im sure they would have a lower divorce rate. anyways, gays are people to. we have the right to marry whomever we want. the family is fucked up anyways. lets at least help out the families, and the people being oppressed.
