Bemidji Is Dead

Music: Disturbed

Mood: Full

Even though it is 70+
The town still doesn’t seem alive

The birds sing
The ice has melted
The grass is turning green (in spots)

But the trees still have no leaves
So the town looks barren
If it wasn’t for the conifers and grass
The town would be completely brown

I realized this when I was driving to work yesterday
It was sunny and an all around beautiful day
But as I looked around
It was an eerie sight
Something wasn’t quite right

Something was missing
It sure didn’t seem like Minnesota in the summer

That’s when I realized
The means of photosynthesis for the deciduous trees were missing
It was not a happy sight

It actually kind of fits with this town
It all seems great to those who don’t look hard enough
But if you do look, something is missing and not right

Just a little something I noticed

Hope your days are brighter

Carpe diem

The 2 People As 1 Thing...

Music: Styx - Mr. Roboto

Mood: Sick of the losers next door who park in our spaces and talk like they are ghetto boys when they are white losers in Bemidji.

The 2 people as 1 thing…

I know what that is like, and I just don’t see it in a lot of other couples. Not that I think we are better than everyone else. We are just lucky to have found that person we have been looking for. I just see others having problems, often or not. We have problems too… don’t get me wrong, but ours are usually caused by an outside source or stress. They don’t last long and we are no worse for the wear. It usually makes us stronger.

And you just can't make it happen… it either happens or it doesn’t. Trust, I'm sure, has a lot to do with it. And there is something to be said about good communication, which also stems from trust.

Sometimes you truly see someone when you move in with them

Sometimes it changes things.

The catholic church led me to believe it was a sin and that anyone who did this just ruined their chances of a marriage or relationship working or lasting.

For me it just enforced everything that I loved about her.
Because now I could be with her every day.
And I like that.
And hope to continue that for the rest of my life.

Well there you have it. Relationships used to be so complicated to me. I always had to try so hard to make the other person happy or was worried I wasn’t what they wanted or that they were unsatisfied.

What I know now is that they aren’t supposed to be complicated. They just work when they are right. Now maybe we are freaks and it never really works out that way, but so far so good, and I don’t see it changing soon.

I Love You Baby!!!

This Week In Bowling (Late Edition)

i know it is a little late but i figure i should post about bowling this week.

it was the last night of bowling on tuesday and i actually bowled well. probably because it was the last night and i was just there to have fun. r and i were having a good time just joking around and bowling. everybody was bowling well. it was just a good time, and it was about time that bowling became fun again.

What I Learned At Bowling:

basically to have fun, and to relax. a lot of what i should have already known. i have been hitting my mark very well, but this week the pins had actually been falling for me. i hope that trend continues but i am also glad to be done for a while so my wrist can heal. it has been hurting a little the last couple weeks. not fun.

well, time to go hang out for a little while, its late and i have to work in the morning. boy i havent missed working weekends. so have a good night people. and watch out for zombies and people who are rude and annoying but dont know it, then get angry when other people ignore them, when they should look at all the nice things all around them.

carpe diem

Music: Godsmack

Mood: Good

just so everyone knows... Anchorman is a horrible movie. i mean seriously. it was boring, had a horrible plot, and wasnt funny at all... except when the dog got punted over the bridge... but thats about it. it was a complete waste of 2 hours of my life. ill never get that back. i would have rather watched the snow melt or a richard simmons tape. at least that would have been funny.

Politicians Are "Dunderheads" (edited for my own safety)

Music: MetallicA!!! Duh

Mood: Pretty damn good

So I was reading the Bemidji paper today. I know… bad Nate. But I skipped the parts about red lake and the Schavio stuff. I like to read the opinion sections because I like hearing what people have to say… even if it is stupid or sucks… like what I read today.

Mike Reagan is the oldest son of Ronald Reagan In his section he was making a problem out of nothing… something all politicians seem to be very good at. See… when there is a problem, it is suppose to be scary and in need of change. Fear… as bush knows… is a great way to get people to see things your way. Anyways, Mikey here was discussing what he claims to be a crazy and scary fact that he says everyone knows… but until recently no one has written about. According to a new study… some 72% of college professors are liberal!!!

Oh no!!! Say it isn’t so!!! Somebody nuke all of the universities we can't have that spread!!!

I was being facetious there… can you tell.

Ok, so 72% of college professors are liberal. What does that tell me? That smart people are liberal. It takes a person with a little education to teach at a college level.

What does it tell Mike Reagan? That “There is evidence of possible discrimination against conservatives in hiring and promotion.”

See what I was saying… suddenly it is a conspiracy. According to Ockam’s Razor… the simplest explanation is the most probable. And a conspiracy in all of the universities is not very plausible at all. Not to mention… where did he pull that out of his ass??? Again, he later says that the number of liberals increase in more prestigious schools. Again… smart people… nope conspiracy.

Mikey uses a professor that his daughter supposedly had as an example of one of these crazy people who somehow teaches college. He quotes the professor of telling everyone, the first day of class, that he is a liberal, and does not like conservatives. Any conservative writing will receive a bad grade. Basically any conservative better drop his class cause he will fail them. I think that mike is exaggerating here a little bit but I'm not sure. He even calls this professor a dunderhead. ??? Who uses that word? I suppose its better than retarded donkey lover.

Even if this “dunderhead, liberal” professor is real, it is a very extreme example. I'm very sure that not every “liberal” professor will fail people just because they are conservative. You see, unlike (many) conservatives, liberals are a little more open-minded and actually think before they make assumptions or comments. At least I do.

But Mikey doesn’t finish there. I quote him again… “Tragically, this is how hordes of fellow liberals teach.” How tragic indeed if it were true, but hordes… now we sound like a bunch of trolls invading his land and raping and pillaging… what’s in your wallet!!!

So now the “dunderhead” liberals have universities in their evil grasp, but conservatives still have everything else in theirs. The way I see it… score one for the good guys!!!

Carpe diem, and don’t drink and drive.
Stay between the lines…. The lines are our friends.
